MAAT@GTC Album
We am pleased to share an update on the MAAT Integral Field Unit (IFU) instrument we are developing for the OSIRIS spectrograph at the 10.4 m Gran Telescopio Canarias on La Palma. The production and assembly of the slicer mirrors have been completed. The slicer stack, comprising 23 slices each 0.8 mm thick and made of glass fused silica, is now ready for the next phase: coating. All other optical elements of the IFU have already been manufactured.
Below, you can see a photo of the slicer stack. Next to it, there is an image of a 3D printed model of the MAAT IFU, which was displayed at the Bertin Winlight stand during the SPIE conference in Yokohama, Japan, this June.
